iAQUA has developed a revolutionary fire-proof storage case to protect both vessels and yacht crew members. It is designed to prevent the risk of thermal runaway associated with lithium-ion batteries, which is a common and ever-increasing cause of onboard fires.
The storage case has been created with a tough aluminum shell and is housed inside a fiberglass casing, then lined with a special material that is perfectly suited to prevent catastrophic thermal runaway and the resulting fire.
This innovative material has unique properties, including a high volumetric expansion, a UL 94VO rating, flame extinguishing characteristics and dielectric properties. With these features, the iAQUA storage case can keep heat and flames within the bounds of the case, preventing any potential disaster.
If a fire is present inside the box, the case remains at a normal temperature to touch, meaning it can be safely handled with the use of personal protective equipment.
Additionally, it is equipped with specially designed ventilation ports to prevent gas entrapment, an inbuilt temperature sensor that wirelessly connects to your phone to provide early warning of rising temperatures, and a lightweight structure for easy portability.
iAQUA is offering two standard sizes of the fire-proof box that are able to store up to two iAQUA AquaDart Nano’s, or a single AquaDart Pro or Seabob dive scooter, plus a range of power tools, water toy battery packs, fuel cans and drones.
The design team can also work closely with yacht manufacturers or captains to fully customize the size and shape of the case exterior to match the aesthetics of each boat. This ensures that the storage case is both functional and visually appealing, making it an ideal solution for boat owners who prioritize safety without sacrificing style.
