A request to rezone property on U.S. 40 near Troy, Ill., for a camper/boat storage facility was denied by the full Madison County Board at a recent meeting in Edwardsville.
Four other requests, including a rezoning to allow a storage facility in Cottage Hills, were approved.
M and M Enterprises Living Trust had requested a 5.84 acre tract located on U.S. 40 be rezoned to B-4 Wholesale Business from A Agricultural to allow the construction of a camper/boat storage facility.
The request had been met with a great deal of opposition during the Zoning Board of Appeals hearing, and the request was denied. The Building and Zoning Committee upheld that decision. A second request for a storage facility was approved.
Kyle Yates, owner of property at the intersection of W. MacArthur and Circle drives in Cottage Hills, had requested the 1.4-acre property be rezoned to B-4 Wholesale Business from R-3 Single Family Residential to allow the construction of a storage facility.
There was some opposition, but the request was approved by the ZBA and Building & Zoning Committee.
