Trucking is the backbone of the American supply chain, responsible for transporting more than 11 billion tons of freight annually. On any given day, 3.5 million truckers are on the road, making deliveries and putting down thousands of miles. But it’s when their shifts end that the real work begins, because now they have to find a safe place to store their rigs.
You may be wondering, what’s so hard about that? Well, the fact of the matter is truckers are in crisis every day due to the complete void of truck parking options.
FAST FACT: Only one-in-11 trucks on the road have a place to park. That means 10 other truckers drive around and around to find a spot, on average wasting nearly an hour of time–just to find a parking space.
In our latest installment of the TSN Conversations Unplugged podcast, presenter Amy Bix has brought together four truck parking experts who are tackling this problem and capitalizing on this relatively unknown storage niche, anticipating a very prolific future.
Expert guest panelists:
- Andrew Jones, Owner of OTR Parking, VP of the Truck Parking Club, and TSN Advisory Board Member
- Janet Rush, CEO, Owner and President of Rush Truck Park
- Jim Blanda, Managing Partner of Industrial Storage Brokers
- Jake Guso, CEO and Co-Founder of Rig Hut Truck Parking
