Forge Introduces New Facility in Cottonwood, Ariz.

Forge Building Company offers a wide variety of services on any given project. In the case of Columbia Self Storage in Cottonwood, Ariz., Forge worked closely with the general Toy Storage Nation Anaheim Workshopcontractor, Near-Cal Corporation, to provide the steel, erection crews, roofing and design/build services. The experienced team paid close attention to every little detail, ensuring the facility was built to the highest level of quality and that every aspect of the construction project was executed with precision and excellence.

This wasn’t Near-Cal Corporation’s first project with Forge. In fact, it was about their 20th. “Forge has always been a good partner for Near-Cal Construction,” stated Randy Nelson, Director of Operations. “The Forge team has a solution mindset and is always willing to jump in to help. They also do an incredible job of managing a project based on the schedule and circumstances to make up for any time.”

This project, which began in 2024, consisted of supplying and erecting six drive-up metal buildings consisting of 9,000 square feet each and a grand total of 409 units. The project also included:

  • Erecting a 16,000 square-foot climate-controlled space with an office and installing a standing seam roof on the member’s lounge where people using the RV canopies can Forge Introduces New Facility in Cottonwood, Ariz.lounge around.
  • Doing a design/build on three RV canopies consisting of 64,175 square feet and 104 parking stalls.
  • Completing the front steel canopy metal roofing for the 12,000-square-foot contractor building (or flex space) with a “storefront” and individual offices in the front, and a warehouse in the back.

This project was completed in February 2025.

The Forge team worked closely with the general contractor to ensure scheduling was on Forge Introduces New Facility in Cottonwood, Ariz.task and completed on time. “We have enjoyed a long working relationship with Forge,” Randy Nelson continued. “They have always provided competitive pricing and the ability to work through challenges with material delays or getting experienced crews out to keep the project moving on time.”

Forge is now currently working with Near Cal Corporation on a multi-story project in Nevada. “The leadership at Forge is very accessible and responsive,” Randy Nelson concluded. “The company is quality-minded and provides the productivity and ability to manage the project properly based on scheduling needs.
