RV with an inflatable pop-up roof

RV with an inflatable pop-up roof

Hymer Group has plans for a new motorhome design that’s big on space and interior design, but the real attention-grabber is its novel inflatable pop-up roof.

This vehicle’s unique layout combines the maneuverable form of a Class B motorhome with the amenities and space in a Class C. What makes it look like a compact Class C RV is the over-the-cab bunk, which is actually a jaw-dropping inflatable pop-up. The motorhome is based on a Fiat Ducato chassis (a slightly modified U.S. RAM Promaster).

How does it work? With an elevating and lowering mechanism, in which a compressor fills the walls with air, turning the area over the cab into a spacious bedroom AND a small office area. This special space is capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions, based on preliminary testing.

The Lyseo Gallery T 689 G measures 22.6 feet long and is 7.5 feet wide. The extremely compact RV is full of amenities, including steps that lead to the pop-up space and built-in storage, convenient slide-away counter space, a dinette with comfy seats and swiveling  table, and a workspace that doubles as dining or socializing space. Also included is a gorgeous kitchen with plenty of cabinets, a sink, propane cooktop and fridge. Rounding out this new beauty is a spacious bathroom with plenty more storage. Stay tuned for more to come.
