The Dryt, a camping and booking app, just released its 2023 Camping Report that shows something many of us experience all the time: Finding a campsite is much harder than it was pre-pandemic, and the increase in camping’s popularity is showing no signs of slowing down.
Finding a campsite was five times harder in 2022 compared to pre-pandemic times, the report found, and more than 15 million Americans went camping for the first time in the last two years.
The report also showed more than one-third of all camping managers added campsites, and there are an estimated 80 million campers in the United States. Additionally, the most common type of camping is through the use of an RV (at nearly 45%).
