Recreational vehicle (RV) and boat storage is considered a subsector of the self-storage segment that is designed to store major personal recreational equipment such as travel trailers, motorized dwellings, pickup campers, travel trailer, boats and boat trailers, racing and recreational vehicles not licensed for street use, and trailers used to haul any such equipment. Local ordinances and/or homeowners associations (HOAs) often prohibit storage of such equipment on residential streets or driveways, necessitating rented storage. Additionally, most storage facilities are secured by onsite staff, coded or keyed entrances, and surveillance equipment.
