Carefree Covered RV Storage announced the groundbreaking of its fifth location in the Phoenix Valley and its first in the city’s northwestern suburbs.
Construction of the Surprise project is expected to be complete by early 2024. The site at 18415 W. Deer Valley Road has been approved as the last all RV storage facility with open canopies within Surprise city limits.
The 14-acre project will offer 632 spaces of covered parking.
Carefree Covered RV Storage is a division of Business Property Trust that specializes in covered recreational vehicle parking. When complete, the Surprise facility will mark the seventh location in the company’s portfolio across Arizona and Texas.
Like other properties in its portfolio, the Carefree Surprise location will feature quality covered parking, wash bays, an RV dump station, state-of-the-art security and a customer welcome center.
“We are so excited to be expanding and offering another high-quality RV facility, this time in northwestern Phoenix,” BPT President Barry Raber said. “We are especially grateful for the opportunity given that the city does not plan to approve any more open canopy RV facilities in the area. With over 10,000 homes planned to be built in this growing part of the city, we expect the demand to be high.”
Development partners on this project will include A.T. Meridian Construction, Done Deal Iron Works, EAPC Architects Engineers, Erie & Associates, Inc, and Withey Morris Baugh, PLC. Financing will be provided by The Commerce Bank of Oregon, a division of Zions Bancorporation, N.A.
Business Property Trust is completing construction on its third covered RV storage property this year, adding to the four existing properties in its portfolio. The company has plans to build two additional facilities following the Surprise property, which would bring the portfolio size to 10 and over 5,000 spaces.
