A man was injured in an explosion at a boat storage facility in Oldham County, Louisville, Kent.
North Oldham Fire Chief Hewett Brown told WDRB that the explosion happened Friday morning at the facility on Highway 1793 in Goshen.
Brown said the man was working on his 40-foot catamaran-style boat, when the explosion happened. Officials haven’t determined what sparked it.
According to the North Oldham Fire Department, the man who was on the boat when it exploded was badly burned and quickly taken to UofL Hospital in downtown Louisville. No other injuries were reported.
No one else was injured.
Fire crews from North Oldham, South Oldham and Anchorage-Middletown responded to the scene because of concerns over the 200 gallons of gas on the boat.
