A $41,000 RV and pickup truck were stolen from the same family in two separate locations.
Police were investigating the theft of a recreational vehicle from a storage facility on Victoria Street in Shelburne, Vermont, when the owner advised police their 2021 black Dodge Ram TRX had also just been stolen from their driveway.
Video of the storage facility event shows the suspected thief entering the compound at 6 a.m. and leaving about 40 minutes later (see photo above of the pickup).
The suspect’s pickup truck is described as a Ford F250-type truck with an extended cab and four doors that is tan or gold in color.
The stolen RV is described as a white 2020 Alpha Wolf 26DBH Camping Trailer, valued at approximately $41,000.
Editor’s Note: Incidents like this are a stark reminder to owner/operators of toy storage facilities to remain vigilant. Perhaps it’s time to review insurance policies and make sure you have the coverage needed to protect your business.
According to Terry Anderson of Tenant Property Protection, “Every RV and boat storage facility must develop a Risk Management Assessment and Plan. Without it, their high-income asset is subjected to devastation from every weather-related event and incidences of theft.”
“Owner/operator negligence in preparing for the risk of winds, fires and burglary has led to the rising cost of property and casualty insurance rates,” he continues. “A Risk Management Assessment and Plan is a way to save profits and costs when faced with potential losses. Every good general business property and casualty agency in the storage industry should have a resource available to meet this need.”
